Converting Pegasus address book to Exchange
This conversion can be done, however it is not 100% guaranteed. This is a three step process and it could take up to 20 minutes to complete.
- Open Pegasus Mail.

Click on Addresses on the menu bar and then select Address
Books.
- Choose the Address book you wish to convert by highlighting it.
- Now click Edit on the menu bar and select all to choose all the names in that address book.
- Click on Address book from the menu bar and then click Export to Tab-delimited file.
- A box will come up called Export to which file, type in NAME.TXT to save the file as a text file. Now click Save.
- Close the Address Book and close Pegasus.
- Open Excel then Click on File and Open.
- Change Files of type to All files and locate the text file you just created. Then click Open to open the file.
- The Text Import Wizard will open up.

Step 1 of 3, make sure the radio button for Delimited
is checked and then click next.
- Step 2 of 3 make sure that Tab, comma and space are selected and then click Next.

Step 3 of 3 make sure General is checked and then click
Finish.

Delete the first row by right clicking on the number 1 and selecting delete.
The address book information should transfer into the Excel spreadsheet.
- After you have finished editing the spreadsheet select File
and Save as. When the Save as window appears
click on Save.
- Then click Yes to the 2 screens that will appear. Then
close Excel.
Importing into Outlook: You must follow the steps outlined below to finish with the address book conversion process.
- In Outlook click on File and then select Import and Export.
- The Import and Export Wizard will open up. Choose Import from another program or file then click Next.
- In Select a file type to Import from in the Import a File screen choose Tab separated values (windows) and then click next.
- On the Import a File screen, click on browse and navigate to the text file you created earlier. Click the radio button for Allow Duplicates to be Created and then click Next.
- Click on the Contacts folder as your destination folder, then click Next.

In the next screen click the checkbox next to
the file you created earlier. This will bring you to the Map Custom
Fields screen.
You will now need to map the custom fields at this point. Click on the value (Ex. Ann ) and drag it to the appropriate field (Ex. name) continue to do this for the other values and fields. Click OK when done.
- Click Finish. You should now see a screen such as the one below which shows you your addresses being converted over to Outlook.
