| Overview |
- University/departmental purchased Blackberries are setup to synchronize University calendar, contacts,
and e-mail at the point of deployment or later through individual requests.
- Further information on device availability and options are outlined at the University Blackberry website.
|
- UITS does not assist in the configuration of personally-owned Blackberry devices. Please see your vendor or place of purchase for support of personally-owned devices.
- Most Blackberry devices can access University email directly, through configuration of the device's email account settings. Model-specific instructions on setting up Blackberry are outlined at the Blackberry 101 web site.
- General settings for the University's central email server are listed off of the main Smartphone/PDA web page.
- Access to the University calendars, contacts, notes, and tasks on personally-owned Blackberry devices may require the use of Blackberry Desktop Redirector software. UITS does not support configuration of the Blackberry Redirector software. This is a special software program included on a CD included with BlackBerries, that you can install on your computer. The software will watch for new emails arriving in Microsoft Outlook and then automatically forward a copy of these emails to your BlackBerry. But you must keep your computer running 24 hours a day to get copies of your email. Instructions on configuration of Blackberry Redirector software are available from:
