Pegasus Mail IMAP Configuration

Pegasus Mail (Version 3.12 and above) can be used to access Exchange using secure IMAP

Follow the steps below to configure Pegasus Mail to use IMAP with UConn's Exchange server.

  1. In Pegasus click on the Tools menu, then choose IMAP profiles.

  2. Click on New.

  3. Fill in the IMAP Mailbox settings
    • Enter a Name for this Definition: UConn Exchange
    • IMAP Server Address: exchange.uconn.edu
    • Server Port: 993
    • Login Name: uconn\NetID (uconn\abc01001)
    • Password: Your Exchange/NetID password.

  4. Click on the Security tab and select Via direct SSL Connect.

  5. Click OK.
  6. Click on Tools and then Internet Options.

  8. Select the Sending (SMTP) tab, then click Add.

  9. Click on New.

  10. Fill in the settings on the General tab, then click OK:
    • SMTP definition: Enter UConn Exchange
    • Server host name: smtp.uconn.edu Click here for more information.
    • Server TCP/IP Port: 25

  11. Click the Security tab, and choose Never for Use SSL/TLS security on this connection. Click OK.

Pegasus will now be set up to use IMAP with UConn's Exchange server.

To connect to Exchange:

  1. Click on the Tools menu and then choose IMAP profiles.
  2. Click on UConn Exchange, then click Connect.
