Outlook IMAP Configuration

Outlook can be used to access Exchange using secure IMAP

Follow the steps below to configure Outlook to use IMAP with UConn's Exchange server.

Open Outlook 2007, go to the Tools menu, and choose Account Settings.

Choose New.
Choose Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, HTTP, then click Next.
Choose manually configure server settings or additional server types. Click Next.
Choose Internet E-mail. Click Next.
Your Name Full name
Email Address first.last@uconn.edu (ex: john.doe@uconn.edu)
Account Type IMAP
Incoming Mail Server exchange.uconn.edu
Outgoing Mail Server smtp.uconn.edu
User name Your NetID (ex: abc01234)
Password Your NetID password
Choose More Settings, then Advanced. Change Use the following type of encryption connections to SSL. Click OK.
You are now back to the Change E-mail account screen. Click on Test Account Settings. Click Next and Finish.
You will receive the message that your account has been successfully set up.
