Subscribing to folders in Outlook using IMAP
It is relatively easy to subscribe to the folders. It is a two step process that should take approximately 3 minutes to complete. However, this process is not 100% guaranteed.
To do this the Outlook client needs to be set up with an IMAP connection.
Subscribing to Folders in Outlook
- Right click on the root of the IMAP folder. (In exchange, this is identified by a folder named exchange.uconn.edu or Uconn Exchange.)
- Select IMAP Folders from the list of options.
- In the search field, enter the name of the folders you would like. Then click on Query.
- Leaving the search field blank will yield all the available folders to you. This includes the Inbox, Contacts, Calendar, Junk E-mail, Trash, and all available public folders; the resulting list may be very long. To reduce the results you may search for each folder individually.
- Common searches are: Calendar, Contacts, and Inbox.
- Note: Searching Inbox will yield the inbox and all subfolders of the inbox.
- Select the folder you would like to subscribe to, then click on Subscribe for each folder.
- When you have subscribed to all the folders you want, click on OK.
