Netscape/Mozilla IMAP Configuration

Netscape or Mozilla can be used to access Exchange using secure IMAP

Follow the steps below to set up Netscape to read your UConn Exchange e-mail.

  1. Open Netscape, go to the Communicator menu, and select Messenger.

  2. Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences.

  3. Under Outgoing Mail Server type smtp.uconn.edu and check the button marked never.
  4. Under Mail and Newsgroups, select Incoming Mail Servers, then click Add .

  5. Fill in the General tab.
    • Server name: Enter exchange.uconn.edu
    • Server type: Select IMAP Server.
    • User Name: uconn/NetID (uconn/abc01001)

  6. Click on the IMAP tab, and place a check mark in the box next to Use secure connection (SSL).

  7. Click OK

Netscape will now be set up to use IMAP with UConn's Exchange server.
