Setup Entourage 2004
Note: Microsoft has discovered that a small proportion of customers who upgrade to Service Pack 2, may experience loss of Exchange email, calendar items, and/or contacts when upgrading to SP2 in Entourage 2004 for the Macintosh. Click here for more information.
Follow the steps below to use Entourage with UConn's Exchange Server.
1. Go to the Tools menu and select the Accounts command.
2. From the Accounts window that appears, switch to the Exchange tab.
4. In the Exchange tab, choose the New command in the upper-left of the window.
5. In the window that appears, enter the following information:
E-mail address: first.last@uconn.edu User ID: Your NetID Domain: uconn Password: leave this empty Click the button labeled: Configure Account Manually
6. From the Edit Account dialog that appears, enter the following information:
Account Name: Exchange Account Account ID: Your NetID Domain: uconn Exchange Server: exchange.uconn.edu/exchange/first.last@uconn.edu Name: First Name Email Address: first.last@uconn.edu
7. Switch to the the Directory tab. Enter the following information:
LDAP Server: grove.ad.uconn.edu Search Base: dc=grove,dc=ad,dc=uconn, dc=edu
- Under the Click here for Advanced Options section:
Check This server requires me to log on Check Override default LDAP with port: 3268
8. Switch to the Advanced tab. Enter the following information:
Public Folders Server exchange.uconn.edu Synchronization options Synchronize all items to server Security DAV service requires secure connection (SSL)
9. Click OK. Congratulations, your Exchange account is ready to be used!
Known Limitations:
- Entourage cannot access shared calendars/resources.
- Entourage cannot synchronize Exchange tasks or notes.
- You cannot delegate access to your Exchange account through Entourage
(you must use Outlook under Windows to do this). - Entourage shows only Public folder e-mail messages (not tasks or contacts).
- Entourage does not cache the Public folder listing.
- To see the contents of a Public folder, you must first select the folder, and use the "subscribe" command at the top of the folder listing in Entourage (the subscribed folder will appear in the listing to the left).
